Yinan Du is an animation director, artist, and educator. She makes work exploring obscure bodily existence, translating the untranslatable (national tension, marginalized communities, education system), and folklores. Her films have screened at film festivals and prestigious institutions globally, including Academy Museum, Points Gallery, Kun Chef Gallery, among others. Her work has been recognized by press outlets such as VoyageLA. She holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts, and a BFA from Duke University. Outside of teaching and filmmaking, she also offers animation mentorship independently, makes commissions and graffiti.
