The Shower

The shower (2024) is a hand-drawn animation that depicts a female body’s contemplation on existence in the environment of a bathroom. Inspired by traditional Japanese Ukiyoe style drawing and its use of negative space, the animation pounders upon the asian identities that are being gazed upon by western society. Through depicting the self-deprecation, performativity, and self-liberation, the animation experimented with sensuality to documents identity struggle and body anxiety. The animation is currently under development.
